Competitive Tiers 1-3

While SW Basketball is primarily a community sports league, we participate in the Edmonton Youth Basketball Association's Competitive (Tiers 1-3) Divisions for 13U & 15U.  This allows players to compete at a higher level against players with similar skills from other zones within the capital region. Given its competitive nature, players must try out for Competitive Division teams.  Teams can expect priority gym time and Provincial Championship play.  Players who do not make the Competive Division teams are still eligible to play community basketball in other divisions.

Competitive Team Tryouts - August 22, 2026, Saville Centre, must be registered to attend

11U Development Teams evaluations - (born 2016-2017)

13U - (born 2014-2015)

15U - (born 2012-2013)

Players must try out for the team in the zone which their principal residence is located or where they attend school.

The Competitive Team Program runs from end-September to mid-March with games played on Tuesday evenings (for boys) and Wednesday evenings (for girls).  Games will primarily take place at the Saville Community Sports Centre or EYBA Centre, however games will also be held at other gyms around the Capital Region.

Teams will also get one practice time per week (subject to gym availability).
